Brad Pitt says he’d love to one day star in a Bollywood movie after seeing the scene evolve and work with the likes of Aishwarya Rai.
Indian cinema seems to be growing very well at its own pace,” he said. “The filmmaking, I hear, has evolved a lot in India and of late we have witnessed some good films making a presence at the Oscars and the world stage. That tells you a lot about the quality of the actors and the films. ” Pitt said.
“I would love to work in a Bollywood film as there is so much drama and colour in the films there. You never know when I might decide to work in a Bollywood film and do one of those dance numbers with the whole crew in the backdrop.”
On working with Aishwarya, Pitt commented, “She is one of the most popular actresses of Bollywood, who has achieved huge acclaim in the West for her style, beauty and acting skills,” he commented. “I think we missed an opportunity to be cast together for the movie Troy.
“Given a chance, I would like to work with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan because she’s a versatile actor. She has worked brilliantly in films like The Mistress of Spices, The Last Legion, The Pink Panther 2 and Provoked to name a few.”
Bollywood icons Kajol and Lara Dutta have defended Aishwarya Rai over her post-pregnancy weight gain!
“It’s stupid to have this conversation! Everyone has the right to their lives and to look the way they want to. Tomorrow, I can put on 25 kilos… it’s my own choice, my body! Kajol said.
“She is at home taking care of her baby. As long as it doesn’t affect her work, I don’t understand why it should be under discussion.” Kajol added.
Former Miss Universe Lara Dutta, who gave birth to a daughter earlier in the year said, ‘You have no right to pass comments on women like Aishwarya, who have gone through a hard time during pregnancy” . “I stayed away from putting on weight because of yoga during my pregnancy, but that’s my personal choice which may not be the case with Ash.
“So, please refrain from getting judgmental. Respect the private life of Ash as a mother, who has every right to look however she wants.”
Abhishek Bachchan has revealed he misses his wife Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan’s attention after the couple had their baby daughter in November 2011.
“Ash’s day starts and ends with the baby. Since she insists on doing everything for Aaradhya, including giving her a massage, bathing her and attending to her round-the-clock, I’m now waiting in [a] queue for Ash’s attention.
“Aaradhya wakes up in the night for her feed and a nappy change. Ash, who’s completely clued in, is up in a jiffy. However, I must confess, it took time for me to get used to the new routine.
“When the baby cried, I woke up too, but couldn’t go back to sleep immediately. So Ash suggested that I sleep in another room till such time as Aaradhya was slightly older.”
Aishwarya will be at Cannes this month with baby Aaradhya.
Aishwarya Rai will be attending this year’s Cannes Film Festival and this time she will will travel to Cannes with her six-month-old daughter and is expected to play a significant role at the event.
A source told Bollywood Mantra: “Yes, Aishwarya will be going to Cannes this year. We can’t confirm about Abhishek yet, but Aishwarya won’t travel without Aaradhya for sure.”
Bipasha Basu is also expected to attend the film festival.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan have named their daughter Aaradhya Bachchan.
It had been speculated that the Bachchans were looking for a name beginning with the letter ‘A’.
The announcement was made 118 days after the birth of their daughter, who had previously been known in the media by the nickname ‘Beti B’.
Aishwarya Rai is said to be taking an extended break from Bollywood.
“There’s no denying that there are several offers and filmmakers have been trying to get her to at least read their scripts, but of what we know, she’s not looking at starting any film till her daughter doesn’t turn one at least,” a source revealed.
The star’s main focus is her still-to-be-named 4-month-old baby, sources say.
“She’s a completely hands-on mum and her only focus at the moment is her daughter. It’s unlikely that she’ll take up films right away, though she may continue with her endorsements as they require fewer hours of shooting,” the insider added.
Oprah Winfrey chose to go truly Indian on her maiden India visit as she draped an orange and golden sari as she went to meet Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai and her newborn, nicknamed Beti B, Amitabh Bachchan & Abhishek Bachchan last night.
The media mogul is in India to shoot for her new show “Next Chapter”, which will see Winfrey travelling around the world and interviewing celebrities.
Abhishek Bachchan has revealed that his daughter resembles his wife Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan.
Bachchan told DNA India: “Thankfully she resembles her mother, but I have been told by the veterans that children’s face changes over time. I think it sounds better she looks like her mother.
“No matter how good is your vocabulary, you can never get [proper] words of what you feel when you see the child… It is wonderful.”
He added that the month-old baby, which is his first, has not yet been named by her family.
Abhishek Bachchan has said that he is struggling to decide on a name for his daughter.
“The suggestions still pour in and still we haven’t managed to finalise a name,” he tweeted. “Evenings are spent reading out all your suggestions in front of the family and trying to decide. Will decide soon. Many thanks again. Lots of love.” he added.
Big B went on to speak about spending time with his granddaughter too!
“She sleeps through most of the day except for feeds and has been most obedient and well behaved!” he said.
“The moments spent with her even though one encounters shut eyes, are the most pleasant and fulfilling, but what after. I think there is an indication here to take up vocations that one has always wanted to pursue – that music lesson, language… reading to catch up… and on.” he added.
It’s been reported that Aishwarya Rai & Abhishek Bachchan will hold a ‘naming’ ceremony around Christmas with close friends and family as the couple reveal the name of their new baby girl!
Reportedly, the caterer has already been finalised and the menu will include only vegetarian dishes with a smattering of South Indian offerings as well.
Apparently, everyone in the family is coming up with a set of names each and then, we’re guessing, that whatever is the most popular and agreed upon will be the chosen name! Ash constantly says: that the ‘Bachchan household is a very democratic one’ and this seems to be the case!
