Bollywood composer Aadesh Shrivastava wants Akon to collaborate with none other than Amitabh Bachchan!
During jamming sessions with Amitabh for his album they both felt that it would be good to have another icon such as Akon whose songs have millions of listeners the world over, to promote the album’s message.
According to the composer, Big B and Akon’s first gig for the album would take off around March in Mumbai. Plans are also afoot to bring the two icons together in New York for a performance to commemorate 9/11 in September.
Oprah Winfrey chose to go truly Indian on her maiden India visit as she draped an orange and golden sari as she went to meet Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai and her newborn, nicknamed Beti B, Amitabh Bachchan & Abhishek Bachchan last night.
The media mogul is in India to shoot for her new show “Next Chapter”, which will see Winfrey travelling around the world and interviewing celebrities.
Amitabh Bachchan passed Priyanka Chopra on twitter, emerging as the most popular celebrity on the site with 1,850,903 followers. Bachchan, who joined Twitter in 2010, is an avid user of the site and has tweeted 11,108 times till date.
The 69-year-old took the number one spot after beating last time winner Priyanka, who now stands second on the list with 1,841,804 followers and 5,693 tweets.
Amitabh Bachchan has criticised actress Priyanka Chopra for retweeting a Rihanna message containing the F-word.
Big B said that retweeting the post had the same effect as using it.
“F**k I look like ho? I look like yes and ya look like no,” posted Rihanna, which Chopra then forwarded to her Twitter followers.
Chopra later issued an apology to Bachchan after he sent her a message slamming the retweet.
“Alright guys.imma b a good girl now and quietly go to work. teeheehee..think I shud shuttup for a bit.. Haha! have a brilliant day loves! (sic),” she later told her fans.
Bollywood was quick to pay tribute to Dev Anand as news of his death quickly echoed around the world. The likes of Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar all paid tribute to the legend.

Abhishek Bachchan has said that he is struggling to decide on a name for his daughter.
“The suggestions still pour in and still we haven’t managed to finalise a name,” he tweeted. “Evenings are spent reading out all your suggestions in front of the family and trying to decide. Will decide soon. Many thanks again. Lots of love.” he added.
Big B went on to speak about spending time with his granddaughter too!
“She sleeps through most of the day except for feeds and has been most obedient and well behaved!” he said.
“The moments spent with her even though one encounters shut eyes, are the most pleasant and fulfilling, but what after. I think there is an indication here to take up vocations that one has always wanted to pursue – that music lesson, language… reading to catch up… and on.” he added.
Amitabh Bachchan has denied stories that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had a caesarean section, saying Aishwarya had a normal delivery – without epidural or painkillers.
He tweeted: “The often coined phrase ‘too posh to push’ was put to rest in her case. She was determined to do it the way she felt was correct!”
Amitabh Bachchan has vowed he will not post an image of Aishwarya & Abhishek’s baby girl and has also been upset by some media posting made-up images of the baby.
“Many morphed pictures of the ‘little one’ with her mother in hospital doing the rounds on the net… all fake!!” Big b tweeted.
“Many asking for the picture of the baby ..I am afraid that is not going to happen … too personal .. you will understand ..thank you” he added.
Amitabh Bachchan is nothing but thrilled with the news of his new granddaughter that he describes her features on his blog!
“The soft innocence of nature rests in my arms, oblivious of what else happens around her. Occasionally she opens her large and what looks now to be eyes of the lighter hue, which those that have dealt with similar, know shall change with time,” he said.
“Often the gentlest of smiles quiver across her pouted upper lip, the shut eyes bringing expression through the brows and the settling down to that dream she must dream. I stare at her in silence. She reciprocates in similar vein. It is too delicate a moment,” he added.
Amitabh Bachchan turned 69 today and fellow Bollywood stars all wished the actor a very happy birthday!
