News: Sachin Tendulkar Scores 100th Century For India!

India’s Sachin Tendulkar has become the first player to score 100 international centuries by compiling a ton in a one-day game against Bangladesh in Dhaka.

“A year ago when I got my 99th hundred the media began talking about it. Everybody began asking me about that. It began [to get a] little difficult. I was not playing for my 100th hundred. ” Tendulkar said.

“I have lost about 50 kilos. Enjoy the game and chase your dreams. I had to wait for 22 years for one dream, the World Cup.”

England Test captain Andrew Strauss told BBC Sport: “Sachin is a player by which all others are measured over the last 10-15 years, and for him to go out and get a hundred hundreds is an amazing achievement without precedent – it’s unlikely to be achieved again.”

News: English Family Ditch Maidstone For Mumbai & Mix With Bollywood Stars!

Brits moving to India is quickly becoming a popular movie. With employment levels at an all-time low in the UK, an increasing amount of people are moving to East Asia in a bid to capatilise on the booming economy.

Lindsey and Mick Gordon, both 46, sold their property in Maidstone, Kent and moved to Mumbai with their two children Hugh, 13, and Polly, 11, in 2008.

A sharp contrast to their life in Britain, they now live in a five-star, luxury gated compound, have a team of personal staff including a driver and personal trainer, and earn high salaries.

Lindsey even claims to rub shoulders with Bollywood stars at the school gates.

Describing the Indian way of life, Mick – who runs a market research firm and manages a staff of 500 – said: ‘The attitude here is highly optimistic because everyone sees India’s time is coming.

‘Here there’s a belief that the future is ours, whereas in Europe it’s all about hanging on to what we’ve got as things aren’t going to get better. It’s a fundamental difference in attitude.’

Speaking about their decision to relocate to the side of the world, Lindsey said: ‘We felt the country was going to the dogs and thought we’d get out while we could.

‘The country’s bankrupt and everyone’s depressed.

‘India is heading into the stratosphere, it’s incredible how quickly it’s changing.’

News: Indian Cricketer Yuvraj Singh Diagnosed With Cancer

It’s been reported that Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh has been diagnosed with grade 1 cancer.

Earlier, it had been revealed that the 30-year-old was suffering from a tumour in his lungs, and now it’s been confirmed that the growth is malignant.

Yuraj’s ailment was first misdiagnosed by an Indian hospital. Yuvraj is now being treated at the Cancer Research Institute in Boston, America.

The rare tumour, parts of which are just above the artery of Yuvraj’s heart, was detected in stage one itself. Chemotherapy sessions for Yuvi began after he reached the US on January 26, and he will not be requiring surgery.

The good news is that Yuvraj will be better soon. The cricketer’s physiotherapist Dr Jatin Chaudhary has clarified that the illness is curable and that Yuvraj is likely to be fit again by May 2012.

Yuvraj was Player of the Tournament in the World Cup in 2011, which India won, claiming 4 man of the match awards.

News: BBC Top Gear Responds To India Complaints!

Top Gear producers have responded to the recent criticism over its India special.

A statement from the BBC read: “Our film showed the charm, the beauty, the wealth, the poverty and the idiosyncrasies of India, but there’s a vast difference between showing a country, warts and all, and insulting it.

“It’s simply not the case that we displayed a hostile or superior attitude to our hosts and that’s very clear from the way the presenters can be seen to interact with them along the way.

“We genuinely loved our time in India and if there were any jokes to be had they were, as ever, reflected back on the presenters rather than the Indian people.”
