News: BBC Top Gear Responds To India Complaints!

Top Gear producers have responded to the recent criticism over its India special.

A statement from the BBC read: “Our film showed the charm, the beauty, the wealth, the poverty and the idiosyncrasies of India, but there’s a vast difference between showing a country, warts and all, and insulting it.

“It’s simply not the case that we displayed a hostile or superior attitude to our hosts and that’s very clear from the way the presenters can be seen to interact with them along the way.

“We genuinely loved our time in India and if there were any jokes to be had they were, as ever, reflected back on the presenters rather than the Indian people.”

It’s been reported that Garry Sandhu was removed from the UK last night by the UK Border Agency.

“We will not tolerate abuse of the immigration rules. This man tried to evade our officers by adopting an alias and absconding. But his arrest and removal should send a message to all immigration offenders that they can run but they can’t hide. We will track them down and we will remove them” said Gail Adams from UK Border Agency.

News: India’s Virender Sehwag Breaks World Record!

Virender Sehwag hit a record-breaking 219 to make the highest individual score in one-day internationals in India’s match against West Indies in Indore.

The opener passed team-mate Sachin Tendulkar’s 200 not out against South Africa in February last year as he put the Windies bowling to the sword.

The 33-year-old, who was dropped on 170, hammered seven sixes and 25 boundaries in his magnificent 148-ball knock as India posted 418 for five in the fourth ODI.

Sehwag said: ‘I never dreamt of it. I told Gauti (Gautam Gambhir) if we showed a little patience we could get a big one. But I was never expecting a double century. When I decided I wanted to hit a six, I went and did it with a straight bat.

‘I know people expected me to score a double-century, so thanks to them. And thanks to my family. I had said earlier that the top order was not contributing, and it was my job. When (Darren) Sammy dropped my chance, I knew God was with me.’
