Brits moving to India is quickly becoming a popular movie. With employment levels at an all-time low in the UK, an increasing amount of people are moving to East Asia in a bid to capatilise on the booming economy.
Lindsey and Mick Gordon, both 46, sold their property in Maidstone, Kent and moved to Mumbai with their two children Hugh, 13, and Polly, 11, in 2008.
A sharp contrast to their life in Britain, they now live in a five-star, luxury gated compound, have a team of personal staff including a driver and personal trainer, and earn high salaries.
Lindsey even claims to rub shoulders with Bollywood stars at the school gates.
Describing the Indian way of life, Mick – who runs a market research firm and manages a staff of 500 – said: ‘The attitude here is highly optimistic because everyone sees India’s time is coming.
‘Here there’s a belief that the future is ours, whereas in Europe it’s all about hanging on to what we’ve got as things aren’t going to get better. It’s a fundamental difference in attitude.’
Speaking about their decision to relocate to the side of the world, Lindsey said: ‘We felt the country was going to the dogs and thought we’d get out while we could.
‘The country’s bankrupt and everyone’s depressed.
‘India is heading into the stratosphere, it’s incredible how quickly it’s changing.’

Paris looked her glamorous best in a short silver dress and diamond earrings and said that she enjoyed the party.
“Had the best time at my party last night! Met so many amazing people! The women in India are so exotic & gorgeous,” she tweeted.
Paris Hilton finally arrived in Mumbai this morning as she stepped out of the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport dressed in a blue jumpsuit.
“Even though it was early morning when Paris reached Mumbai, she looked very excited and was very friendly at the airport. She has now reached the hotel and will rest for sometime before starting her day,” a source revealed.
Paris later tweeted, “Yay! So excited! This is going to be an amazing trip!”
She added, “Wow! What a warm welcome into Mumbai. Hundreds of fans and media waiting for me when I landed… I love you India!”
Paris Hilton is set to hit Mumbai, India at the end of the month (24th-26th) for a 3 day visit to promote her new line of handbags and interact with fans.

It’s been reported that Jay Sean & Priyanka Chopra were looking very comfortable with each other on Sunday night at a Mumbai nightclub.
“Priyanka and Sean looked very comfortable with each other. They were in the nightclub for nearly two-and-half hours. Their conversation was rather animated. Priyanka was spotted giggling quite often,” a source told Mumbai Mirror.
“Almost everybody was looking at them, but they seemed quite oblivious of everyone and everything around them. Priyanka and Jay left the nightclub together,” added the source.

Akon is reportedly planning to celebrate his Birthday with Shah Rukh Khan and other Bollywood stars at a party in Mumbai.
India press say Akon will spend his birthday in India, prior to concerts in Gurgaon and Bangalore.
“After his private event last year, Akon wanted to give the general public, along with the B-Town fraternity, an opportunity to share in his celebration and party and dance the night away,” said Sujit Jain from Netsurf Entertainment.
“The team is making full arrangements to ensure it is a success, since there are many firsts to his visit in India this time around,” Jain added.
Akon is also expected to invite up to a thousand fans to the celebration on April 15, a day before his actual birthday!
A R Rahman launched his biography ‘A.R. Rahman: The Spirit of Music’ in Mumbai yesterday. The music maestro revealed how his family made huge sacrifices so he could pursue his dreams.
“While working on this book with Munni, I relived many old memories. But the one moment that stood out and which I can never forget was when I had no money to buy any equipment. I needed four lakh rupees and I didn’t have that money. So my mother immediately sold off my sister’s jewellery and gave me the money,” A R said.
